"Everybody's Hometown"

Located a mere 12 miles west of historic downtown Philadelphia, Media, Pennsylvania, nicknamed "Everybody's Hometown", will play host to the 12th Biennial National Chenoweth Family Gathering, August 1-4, 2024.  

The Chenoweth roots run deep in Media, especially in the area now known as Rose Tree Park, as it was the ancestral property of Mary Calvert.  Her father, John Calvert, a Quaker, purchased the land from William Penn in 1683.  It was likely in this same area that John Chenoweth met Mary Calvert and the two were married in 1703.

Our hosts, Greg Wulker and the rest of the Chenoweth Family Board of Directors, have created a schedule that includes a fun and educational tour of local sights, great speakers, and plenty of opportunities to get to know “family.”  

Important Hotel Information

Our home base for the 2024 gathering will be the beautiful Hilton Garden Inn Newtown Square.  It has all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay, including free onsite parking.  Our group meetings, speaker sessions, and banquet will all take place here.  We’ll also maintain our hospitality suite for quick breaks.  A block of specially-priced rooms has been reserved for our event. Welcome!  Registration check in begins at 3:00 p.m.  This afternoon and evening we'll enjoy casual ice breakers with cousins, our first speaker, dinner on your own, and official event kick-off.  

Friday, August 2, 2024

Busy day ahead!  Hotel guests can enjoy their complimentary breakfast.  We'll start the day with a motor coach bus tour of Media and surrounding area.  Our first stop will be at the local Rose Tree Tavern for our group family photos.  The bus tour will include a stop at the Bristol Amish Market for lunch (not included in price), which offers a wide selection of food options and shopping.  We arrive back at the hotel in time for a quick break and then a topical speaker.  Dinner is on your own this evening, then join us for a late evening social hour. 

Saturday, August 3, 2024

Hotel guests can enjoy their complimentary breakfast.  Afterwards, we'll conduct our bi-annual Chenoweth Family Meeting.  We'll have morning and afternoon speakers lined up with an opportunity for lunch on your own in between.  We close our Saturday evening with more fun and fellowship as we dine together at the Chenoweth Family Banquet.  This will be a sit-down dinner that includes tea/coffee/water service.
